About UsDr. Jerry Weseley Harris is the founder and editor of Northwest Music Publishers, a music publishing company that publishes choral music for church choirs, youth choirs, madrigals and community choirs. Dr. Harris has been recognized as one of the leading choral conductors and teachers in the Northwest states for over forty years. His choirs have sung many times at state and regional A.C.D.A. (American Choral Directors Association) and M.E.N.C. (The National Association for Music Education) conventions as an example of excellence in education. He has conducted choirs at all levels, including middle school, high school, university, church and community choirs. Three years ago, he founded a professional choir called The Northwest Chorale. With over 700 compositions, arrangements and editions published with various music publishers, Dr. Harris offers experience that is rarely matched. His music is sung by school choirs, church choirs, and community choirs throughout the United States and, according to A.S.C.A.P., 28 foreign countries. He continues to be active in the Northwest states as a festival conductor and adjudicator. He is a Past-President of the Northwest Division of M.E.N.C. and received their Distinguished Service Award in 1993. Dr. Jerry Weseley Harris was the first Consultant on Music Education for the Oregon State Department of Education, a position he held for four years. Upon request he visits school districts to serve as a music program consultant, advisor and evaluator.
